Now comes the post, you've all probably been waiting eagerly (or not, haha). Plus pictures from my trip report month. Headquarters here in DC and still enjoying my last days, hours and minutes in the U.S. and have the writing of this entry, a bit hung up in front of me esh, as it is simply improbable lot of work. So forgive me that I will only show a fraction of my over 900 pictures (not to mention the other 700 made by the Sara - the I luckily have not yet). I will do my best and probably show anyway in this entry is only a fraction of the trip, but can I put just start again.
On Friday, August 13, it went off, I went in the morning (4AM) to Washington Dulles airport, my flight was at 6 to San Francisco, a direct flight - what a luck. 'm Flying with Virgin Airlines, which in retrospect was really great, the entertainment on board was great, free TV, etc. I then landed about noon in San Francisco, I've searched my way to the hotel, baggage to be unloaded and off we went in the city. (Our hotel was near the airport) 50 minutes later
Geschäzte I came Downtown , and was flashed by the atmosphere of this city. Although rich in tourists there exists a certain kind of flair. Hard to describe. Have done a few touristy pictures and walked towards the port. In between the cool cable car stopped.
'm Sorry, I did not go down, cost should be $ 5 and the snake was just too long. But once dranhängen hands me yes in principle.
At the harbor I found a bike rental and because of the good weather then I am determined to lend me one Radel. I then drove along the harbor toward Golden Gate Bridge, really beautiful. Have made to stop at a pier in front of Alcatraz photos make promt a British woman and I know names Kate, who was also traveling by bike and by chance alone. Since Sara yes should come the next day anyway and I are looking for someone to chat I've had summarily decided to go with her. It was really nice to not have to drive all the way alone.
Unfortunately, the Golden Gate Bridge on Friday wolkenbehangen a bit (they say so?), But on Saturday you could see it all the more! But was still really nice, would not have thought that the bridge is really huge. And it's really long - speaking from experience, I drove over it!
On the bridge itself, it was really cold and windy. Full of contrast with the sunny and pleasantly warm city. Was with a scarf and hoodie perfectly equipped for any weather conditions (Thank God that I have packed ne jeans!).
The goal was our trip the remote village of Sausalito good 10km north of San Francisco. Really a cute little village with cafes, small shopping streets etc. where the (again) have enjoyed good weather, eat dinner and then drove back by ferry to San Francisco.
then there have also separated our paths again, as we had to return both of our bikes. I then slowly moved towards the hotel as it was soon dark. And flit alone in the dark through China Town I did not want it. Around 12:30 that evening Sara came after an equally long flight to the hotel and we fell into bed dead tired (I must admit, I fell asleep around 10 and told her later opened the door only).
The next day we went together Downtown. I even become an 'old hand' then they got out of the sights, hehe. Ne fun, we have also seen a lot that I had not seen on the first day of wars so cool. Unfortunately, Sara has made on this day most of the images and we have not yet replaced most of the pictures I'll unfortunately withheld. May be purely edited later.
can be seen above the steepest street in the world. Was really steep and the cars really need to park in nem 90 ° angle, funny funny. Were still at the Coit Tower and are then continued to run the port.
At Pier 39 we have seen the bad seals.
And as I said, the bridge that day was much much clearer. Wunderbar!
If it still went to the famous Lombard Street (Photos: Sara) and have the Golden Gate Park to explore a little. Goods but at the end of the day soso finished that we went early to the hotel. I forgot to mention that we also move on Saturday morning the hotel had to say shuttle to the airport, from there take the shuttle the other hotels, things to unload, shuttle to the airport, drive to the City. Real hard, but better than the whole day running around with our stuff.
On Sunday morning we met up outside the hotel with our group and our leader Suntrek Seth. The trip went off towards Yosemite. In the early afternoon we arrived, our tents are pitched and constructed the rest of the campground.
course, Sara and I were tent-Buddies, we really had it and were, at least in the building process always the first one.
The food was rather sporalisch: Sandwiches. But was still really tasty. Still drove the van to Yosemite Village and have made a few viewpoints hold.
I must say, Yosemite is truly overwhelming. These heights, the rocks, just wonderful. Too bad we could spend as little time there.
evening was a campfire and cooked birthday celebration. Anna, a girl from my tour, had her birthday and we have obtained NEN cake and a toast to them.
So now I also do not feel everything first, you hope you can settle for that. More very soon, must get my jet lag now somehow in the grip! ToiToiToi ...
your Kaily
